Meet our Board
Andrea is an industry specialist and has worked in ICT for over 20 years holding a number of senior leadership roles both in Government, not-for-profit and private sector.
Andrea is passionate in supporting individuals and business reach their full potential and currently supports a number of charities in a volunteer capacity. She is the Vice Chair for another not-for-profit organisation called Cahoots and an honouree member for the ACS Scholarship Foundation.
Andrea is the Managing Partner for ‘ComplyIT’ that provides ICT related consultancy to WA businesses.
Since joining WAITTA in 2018, Andrea has led the Board in the establishment of an organisation wide strategy and governance framework with designated roles to fulfill key functions. The Board currently meet on a monthly basis to review WAITTA events and programs.
Andrea has a Bachelor of Arts (Honours) in Business and a number of Risk and Governance Certificates.
Chris is an entrepreneurial Telecommunications Engineer, three decades in the hot seat, with a particular interest in long range and remote area communications.
Chris has worked in private industry and in state government (in Victoria), and co-founded a satellite service provider which became the largest provider of satellite communications to the mining sector, globally, and the third largest provider to the oil & gas sector. Chris is currently the Director of Aurora Australis Network.
Chris has a Master of Engineering and an MBA, and is a Senior Member of the IEEE.
Colin has an extensive career working in the IT industry holding a number of national leadership roles supporting businesses across Australia. Colin has helped to drive the growth of these businesses and their customers through the implementation of major change projects related to IT.
Colin is the WAITTA Treasurer and Board sponsor of the Putt4Dough event. Colin is employed by Datacom as General Manager of GovNext which is an initiative of the WA State Government Digital Strategy.
Colin is a Graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors.
Gloria is an experienced information governance specialist and program manager and has worked within the not-for-profit, public and private health sector for more than 20 years, initially in acute care but predominantly and more recently in aged care and the retirement living industry. Gloria has supported organisations in their change management program and deliver business process improvements while positively impacting organisational culture through the adoption of digital solutions.
Gloria has recently undertaken the WAITTA Secretary role, having supported WAITTA as a Board Director since 2019. Gloria currently works for the Air Force Association WA Division (trading as RAAFA), a Retirement Living and Aged Care Provider in the role of Manager, Information Governance and Program Management.
Gloria has a Bachelor of Science (Health Information Management) and Master of Business Administration.
Board Director & Alliance Co-Chair
Throughout his career as a teacher, school principal and now in a national customer relationship role, David has demonstrated a passion for the use of technology by people to improve society.
The empowerment of the diverse range of people in our modern society and the drive to enable digital technologies transformation make a positive difference to society and are key reasons for David’s continued support for WAITTA.
David has recently stepped into the role of WAITTA Alliance Chair, having supported the WAITTA Board since 2018 as a Board Director and has advocated strongly for sponsorship for the WAITTA INCITE Awards.
David is currently the National Client Experience Manager for Radlink Communications, following a 14 year tenure with Kinetic IT.
Board Director & INCITE Awards Chair
Sue is a strategic procurement and contract management specialist with over 25 years experience across various industries and is the founding Director of ‘Bidbuddy’, a proposal and tendering specialist business based in Perth, Western Australia.
Sue is the current Chair of the INCITE Awards and has held a number of positions with WAITTA for the past four years, including the WAITTA Chair and WAITTA Treasurer.
Board Director & Game Changers Chair
Paul is a Change Manager with 25+ years' experience in learning content development/curriculum and professional/leadership facilitator within education and training environments. Paul specialises in content development, technology integration and supporting education and other SMEs clients with successful on boarding of digital technologies.
As a leader/integrator of emerging technologies, Paul has a proven capability in managing key strategic projects focused on implementing change through leadership. He has a broad knowledge and relationship with schools/universities/professional service providers (both locally and nationally) and has successfully negotiated and delivered collaborative digital transformation projects across single and multi-site locations.
Paul is currently WAITTA's Game Changer Awards Chair and is the Manager, Learning Futures at SciTech.
Gregg has spent his professional life assisting organisations in private, public and not-for-profit sectors successfully managing technology-enabled innovation and change, throughout Australia, EU, US and SE Asia.
He is passionate about the IT industry and its potential to support the broader WA community. Gregg has occupied a number of roles at WAITTA for a number of years including the Alliance Chair, WAITTA Secretary and INCITE and Game Changer Committee Member.
Gregg is the founding Director of Falls Valley Group, which is an independent management consultant practice, and Program Director for Caretech Services, a member of APACMed.
Meet our Board Observers
Michael Coles commenced work in ICT in 1980, enjoying opportunities, challenges and achievements as an ICT and management professional in his roles as managing director and owner of a successful IT services company, Chief Information Officer, General Manager Technology Services, Project Director, Consultant, Mentor and volunteer.
Mike’s career started as a technical programmer and database administrator, he developed innovative software that was marketed internationally and secured major contracts to provide managed outsourced services and systems integration services overseas. He combines ICT and finance skills with management and director experience to resolve complex issues and implement successful solutions.
Mike holds a Bachelor of Business degree, double major in Accounting and Information Processing, a Master of Business Administration (UWA), and Graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors’ residential company director course. Mike’s business experience includes company directorship since 1989, negotiating the Management Buyout MBO of an IT Services company, restructuring the group and managing director role for ten years. After five years as CIO of a financial services company he is managing director of his consulting services company specializing in financial systems integration and ICT Governance. Over four decades he has established companies, trusts, corporate trustees and been responsible for the corporate returns and financial statements of multiple corporate entities.
Mike has volunteered on business and information technology not-for-profit organisations, industry associations, advisory boards and mentored students. He was recognized as a Fellow of the Australian Computer Society for his contribution to the WA IT Awards, which has continued for over 27 years. He was a founding Management Committee member of the WA IT&T Alliance, now serving as an observer and has returned as a committee member on the INCITE Awards committee.
Michael holds a Bachelor of Business (Information Processing) and Master of Business Administration, and is a Graduate of Australian Institute of Company Directors and Fellow of Australian Computer Society.
Michael has held a number of roles with WAITTA, including Treasurer and Chair INCITE Sponsorship Committee. WAITTA is honored to have Michael's ongoing support as an observer to our Board and an active contributor for the INCITE Awards.
Jim Ellis has worked in the information technology industry for over 50 years,
Jim helped establish WAITTA in 1993 as an ICT Awards Program, now known as the INCITE Awards, and was its Chair for the first 12 years.
Jim is a Fellow and Honorary Life Member of the Australian Computer Society (ACS). He has been a national Vice President of the ACS, and Chair of the ACS WA Branch.
He was Chair of the Advisory Board of the Autism Academy for Software Quality Assurance (AASQA) at Curtin University, which provides support for school and tertiary students in the area of software testing. He also a Fellow of Curtin University.
Jim was appointed an Adjunct Professor at Murdoch University in June 2006, and was awarded the Medal of the Order of Australia (OAM) for services to the ICT Industry in June 2008.
He has a B.Sc. in Mathematics and Statistics from St Andrews University, Scotland.
